Rittisberg Adventure park

There is plenty to experience on a family holiday at Rittisberg in Ramsau am Dachstein. One day is almost not enough.

The Sattelberg children’s mountain

The Sattelberg is also known as the “Ramsau children’s mountain”. All children’s spirit of discovery is stimulated at 17 specially designed stations. Environmental and natural processes are made understandable in a playful way in an appropriate environment. The small Ramsau water world, the kiddie farm at the Sattelberg hut, the research station or the forest computer centre are particularly fun for children. The adventure trail has been awarded the Austrian Hiking Quality Seal.

 

Tip: During the holidays, the Kali Express slow train takes you around the Sattelberg to the start of the Kali, Kala, Kalo and Heidi children's climbing routes. Summit experiences, via ferrata certification, hiking and having fun in nature.

Hike through the Silberkarklamm gorge

The hike through the Silberkarklamm is on a trail through the roaring whitewater gorge in the heart of the Dachstein massif. The walk takes you through wild nature, past alpine plants and animals in their own biosphere. A refreshing cool down on hot summer days included.

 

At the end of the gorge the Silberkar opens up. Formerly a managed alpine pasture, now a popular destination for young and old. Via ferrata fans will find an additional challenge. There are three challenging via ferratas along the gorge: Hias, Rosina and Siega.

A visit to the marmots on the Bachlalm

Ramsau am Dachstein is a plateau at the foot of the Dachstein massif. The plateau features lush meadows and forests, lush alpine pastures with larch forests, and rocky plateaus.

An ideal habitat for wild animals such as ibex, chamois, deer, roe deer and marmots. The latter can be observed and even fed on the Bachlalm. With a bit of luck, the small rodents come out of their burrows to fetch a little treat.

the Dachstein – Eternal ice from the sea

The Dachstein Glacier adventure world emerged from the sea over 220 million years ago and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The first alpine via ferrata was built on the highest mountain in Styria in 1843.

 

The Dachstein Glacier is a very popular and world-famous destination for families. The highlights at Dachstein include: Panorama gondola, Dachstein suspension bridge with the “stairway into the abyss”, Skywalk viewing platform, ice palace, via ferratas, cross-country ski trails and the starting point for high alpine hikes.

Hike to the Südwandhütte hut

The landscape is made up of rugged nature and gentle alpine pastures in the Ramsau alpine area against the backdrop of the south face of the mighty Dachstein. The hike to the Südwandhütte at the foot of the Dachstein is an impressive and exciting nature experience for children. The Dachstein gondola floats almost silently above people’s heads to reach a height of 2,700 m. From the large terrace you have the best view and can watch the mountaineers climbing the south face of the Dachstein to the summit.

Bathing day at Ramsau Beach

The Ramsau Beach leisure park has been gradually transformed into an island of well-being. You can enjoy your free time with your family to the max. There is no chance of getting bored there. Around the lake there is beach volleyball, slip-and-slide soccer, Segwaying and a trampoline. Swimming, playing or splashing in the children's pool. A day of swimming at Ramsau Beach in the Rittisberg Adventure Park itself.

 

Bad weather tip: Dachstein swimming pool in Ramsau town. The indoor leisure centre with adventure pool and a large sports swimming pool offers enough space for sporty swimmers and families. The little ones have their own paddling pool to play in.
