Duisitzkarlake hiking tour
Hike to Duisitzkarlake Obertal 1213 – 1648 m
Hidden between high and steep mountains, the almost circular Duisitzkarlake is situated in the Obertal valley. The hike in Obertal is part of the Wilde Wasser theme trail in Schladming-Dachstein.
For the Duisitzkarlake hiking tour you take the bus to Schladming-Rohrmoos and from here to the Obertal valley to the station “Eschachalm” (1,213 m). The hike goes from the narrow and steep trail no. 775 leads in serpentines through a forest to a small pasture, the “Saghütten”. You reach the Dusitzkar after a 1 ½ hours walk.
Anyone who steps out of the forest for the first time and sees the magnificent mountain panorama will be thrilled. After a few steps you reach two alpine huts with a beautiful fountain and see for the first time the almost circular Duisitzkarlake below. Cozy little cabins give the lake its special touch. Depending on the position of the sun and the wind, the sea surface reflects the surroundings. One should take time for this nature experience.
Other beautiful circular hiking trails in the Obertal are the Obertaler Almrunde to the Giglachseen or the circular trail via the Neualm to the Duisitzkarsee. Excursion destination for families: Hopfriesen Nickel Museum is part of the historic mining area in Schladming. A furnace with stories in the form of a prism made of glass and steel.
